1st April 2026

The Clay Haven is nearly ready to welcome its very first classes, marking an exciting milestone after months of preparation and hard work. The space has truly come to life, with the lights now installed and casting a warm, inviting glow across the studio. Every corner reflects care and creativity, setting the stage for a place where people can gather, learn, and create together.

Much of the studio has been thoughtfully crafted by hand, adding a personal touch to the environment. The tables are now built and in place, ready to support countless projects, from beginners’ first attempts to more advanced pieces. A beautiful mural has also been painted, bringing character and inspiration to the space, while the arrival of the stools means seating is finally sorted for future potters.

With the sink now installed, the studio is fully equipped for the practical side of working with clay, making it functional as well as welcoming. All the essential elements are coming together, and there’s a real sense that the vision for The Clay Haven is becoming a reality. With just a few final touches to go, the countdown to the first classes has truly begun.

Decoration is underway!

Work has started to transform the empty unit at The Cattlemarket into The Clay Haven.

The artwork has been inspired by the beautiful countryside in the area, including Bodmin Moor and of course Cornwall’s very own ‘Clay Country’

The aim is to make The Clay Haven a really warm and inviting place to visit and relax and inspire your pottery projects.

We have the keys!

A really exciting day as the keys for the units were handed over to Claire and work can get underway to transform the two units at The Cattlemarket in Liskeard into The Clay Haven.

At the moment it’s very much a blank canvas, but over the next month work will get underway to decorate the new workshop and kit it out ready for the first sessions to begin in April.

The larger unit will become the workshop, with the smaller unit next door the drying and kiln room.

Watch this space for more updates coming soon!

A range of different workshops are already available to book.
